Overview
Loss of cooling or inconsistent temperature is the most common refrigerator failure. We diagnose issues related to airflow, defrost cycles, thermostats, and sealed systems.
We service French-door, top/bottom freezer, side-by-side, and built-in units.
Common Problems We Fix
- Fridge not cooling or cooling unevenly
- Freezer overfrosting or leaking water
- Clicking or loud compressor noise
- Fridge runs constantly or cycles on/off rapidly
- Ice maker not working
- Water dispenser not functioning
- Control panel or display not responding
- Error codes on smart models (e.g. E0, 1F, SY EF)
Components We Check
- Evaporator and condenser fans
- Temperature sensors and thermistors
- Defrost heater and bi-metal thermostat
- Compressor and start relay
- Control board logic and error logs
- Door gaskets and air damper
- Water inlet valve and dispenser solenoid
Sealed System Diagnostics
If the issue involves refrigerant loss or compressor failure, we’ll perform:
- Suction/line pressure reading
- Compressor amperage draw
- Leak detection and dye test (if required)
- Evaporator coil inspection (ice pattern)
If sealed system failure is confirmed, quote and timeline provided on site.
Notes
- Unit must be plugged in and running at time of visit
- If under cabinetry, we may need access to move or pull it
- Water line must be accessible for testing dispenser/ice maker
